F.A.Q.

Below are our most frequently asked questions. If you don't see your question answered below, please contact us!

How do I find out what model number I have?

Please check the inside of the crank handle. Depending on the age, there should be a model number or batch number engraved. See instructions for finding your model number.

If there isn’t a model or batch number visible, please include photos for us to identify the product. Email photos to customerservice@libertygardenproducts.com. There are other manufacturers that have similar designs but will not match our parts.

How to order replacement parts?

Common replacement parts can be found here in Replacement Parts Menu.

If the part you need isn’t listed, please email us at customerservice@libertygardenproducts.com .

Can I buy replacement parts at my local hardware store?

-½” galvanized tee that is on some of our hose carts

-5’ Leader hose (ours has a standard male and female end)

-Tires - You will have to check the axle housing to make sure it will fit.

-O-rings - We have tested the Danco brand #11 and #12 depending on the model you have. It is a tight squeeze, but they do work with no leaking. Ours are in metric size so they are difficult to find the exact match locally. Danco #11 for 4007, 4009 and 4010. Danco #12 for 4000 and 4008 swivel.

-Bolts and nuts. Sizes vary per model.

How do I mount the reel on my house? What if I do not want to mount to my house and risk unwanted holes?

a. For instructions on mounting to a home, watch the video or ask your local hardware company.

b. Same instructions apply for mounting wall mounted hose butlers.

c. For ideas on post mounting, click here.

Why does my hose reel not hold the suggested amount of hose?

We test our products using standard grade 5/8” garden hose. Some hoses have thicker walls or have a ¾” ID. Due to the increased diameter of those hoses, the reel will not accommodate the 125’ length advertised. If you do have a ¾” hose, please deduct 50’ per 125’ of our recommended length.

How can I prevent the hose reel from rusting?
Should I buy a four wheel or a two-wheel cart?

If you are moving your hose reel around a lot, most customers prefer the four-wheel model. You do have to recline the two-wheel cart while moving. The two-wheel cart has more stability though while unwinding and winding your garden hose.

What is the main difference between the 704, 707 and 708?

The 704 is made of cast aluminum. It will not rust.

The 707 is also made of cast aluminum but includes a worm gear for winding hose.

The 708 is a smaller decorative reel made of steel, not cast aluminum. This reel uses a different swivel connector than the 704. Both swivels are made of brass.

What PSI can the hose reel sustain?

125 psi of water pressure

What is the Prop 65 Warning regarding?

Proposition 65 protects California’s drinking water sources from being contaminated with chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to inform Californians about exposures to such chemicals. Due to our brass fixtures containing a small amount of lead, we are required to disclose this. Our fixtures do contain three parts per million of lead. The United States guideline for lead content is 90 parts per million.www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

Where are the products made?

Our products are manufactured in China and Vietnam with the exception of our metal hose pots which are produced in India. While our products are manufactured outside the U.S., all marketing, product design and customer service is administered from our corporate office in North Carolina.

What is the best way to mount a Liberty Garden Hose Stand?

Our models 692-a and 693 are intended to be mounted in concrete. Our decorative hose stands are made to be pushed into the ground and mobile by stepping on them; however, for the best stability it is recommended to mount those in concrete as well.

See this video for instructions on how to set the decorative hose stands in concrete.

How much PSI is needed to fill our pneumatic tires?

#1 Read what is listed on tire. #2 Check owner's manual. Note: While tire pressures may vary, 15 psi should be a base amount to start. Do not use a compressor to fill the tires. If over inflated, it could explode.
